Agden Hoard

The Agden Hoard containing over 2500 roman coins, was discovered at Wolstencroft Farm by ploughman Siegfried Froehling in 1957 and are currently in The Grosvenor Museum, Chester.

Many were still in the pot with others scattered by the plough.  hoard is dominated by coins of rebel Gallic Emperors who led a breakaway part of the Roman Empire between AD260 and AD274.
