Warburton Old Church

Warburton Old Church before the Lychgate was built.  Note the old Rectory behind.

Of the 29 remaining timber framed churches in England, Saint Werburgh's is one of the oldest.  it dates back to at least the 14th century and may well have been the site of a Saxon chapel. The photograph is pre 1891, which is when the lych gate was built.
