Well, Wildersmoor
Heritage Category: Listed Building Grade II
The circular well, probably sunk before 1700, is approximately 1.5 metres in diameter. It is stone-lined with a stone parapet to smaller circular opening. Its stone construction in an area of generally brick-lined wells suggests a greater than usual age. It is situated below the kitchen floor at ‘Wildersmoor,’ 181a Higher Lane. This photograph was taken before the house was extended.
