Duchess Countess: model 1

Duchess Countess was the most famous fast packet boat on the Bridgewater Canal pulled by two horses.  It reputedly reached speeds of about six miles an hour and advertised a journey from Stockton Heath to Manchester in five hours, including ten minute stops at Lymm and Altrincham. All other traffic were required to give way, a large knife on the bow cut the ropes of anything that that didn't comply.
