Loading slope, Whitbarrow Road.
Young Stuart Hawkins climbing the loading slope at the side of the Whitbarrow Aqueduct which was used to transfer goods from the Canal boats to carts below. Currently (2023) it is filled in with rubbish. Such a shame, as it is an integral part of the industrial Heritage of the Bridgewater Canal!
