Top Lane and fustian cottages
Booths Hill Road - the locals actually called it Top Lane. The photo looks towards Barsbank Lane with the Anchor Public House on the right. On the left is a row of cottages with fustian cutting, top storey. Note the steps on the left with a passageway underneath. Apparently, this access was closed for one day every year (New Years Day) to conform to regulations regarding ownership.
