Meet Kerry the Chirotherium (January 2019)
Another popular exhibition. "On the Trail of the Handbeast" opened on Jan 12th 2019 telling the story of the discovery of the "dinosaur's" footprint at a Lymm Quarry in 1840. Activities for young people, included were mini-fossil hunts, plus plenty of prehistoric souvenirs. For grown-ups, a fantastic new geology trail had been developed, taking you all round the village - including some corners you may not have seen before.
But most important we will have "Kerry" the chirotherium created by Colin Grimes. A 2 metre life-size model of what scientists think the creature must have looked like as it wandered the area a mere 250 million years ago.
