Agden Hoard - short video

The Agden Hoard containing over 2500 roman coins, was discovered at Wolstencroft Farm near Agden Brook by ploughman Siegfried Froehling in 1957.  They are currently in The Grosvenor Museum, Chester.

Many were still in the pot with others scattered by the plough.  The Agden Hoard is dominated by coins of rebel Gallic Emperors who led a breakaway part of the Roman Empire between AD260 and AD274.
