Lymm: an illustrated guide
Charles Ernest Ardern (April 1866 - 10 May 1933), known locally as Pel Ardern, was an important name in Lymm in the early years of the 20th Century.
Pel was a shopkeeper, publisher, historian, tax collector and a photographer who captured and documented village life. (His shop was where the Cheshire Set is now on Eagle Brow. (April 2026).
The Lymm Archive was therefore delighted when former Statham resident Liz Greaves (nee Dermody) visited the Heritage Centre to donate this book by Pel - and which has now been digitised for all to share.
