Ann Turner: artist.

It may be the most  reliable pre-photography image we have of Lymm. It was probably painted in the late 1840s.  The artist, Ann Turner was obviously well to do as she had the means to travel to places like Lymm before the arrival of the railway.  The village has a much more rustic feel though the Fleece is in place and the wall and gate to the left were to survive for at least another 100 years.
