In 1940, he was captured by the Germans at Dunkirk and spent the next five years as a Prisoner of War in Poland.
Harry worked at Lymm Salt Works until it closed and then spent 26 years at Robertson's Steelworks in Grappenhall which became Lee Bright Bars.
Before their marriage, Norah worked in the Spread Eagle Hotel, Lymm . Her favourite pastimes were knitting and sewing while both she and her husband enjoyed dancing.
Their Golden Wedding Party was attended by their six grand children and three sons, John, Keith and Roy.
