Collecting water ...
A harsh winter on the canal bank at Statham resulted in water pipes freezing up and water for the toilets had to be collected from the canal. Note from left to right is Mrs Hawkins, her granddaughter Janet, Mrs Hatherley, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Hampson, Roger Stevens and Mrs Sharples with the bucket.
