Old cottage by the Bridgewater Canal
This photograph, dated May 1915 was taken by the Bridgewater Canal, close to Lymm Bridge. However, this house is no longer standing. Although difficult to identify the individuals in the image, The Lancashire Archives suggests they maybe from left to right, Emma Mellor, Edith Watkin (mother of) Hugh Watkin and Evelyn Watkin (wife of Hugh).
The cottage shown is on the site of the garden of what is now known as Bridgewater House. The Watkin Family lived in the impressive Dane Bank House just behind this cottage
