Heritage Category: Listed Building Grade II

A milepost - on Booths Hill Road - of the former turnpike road from Warrington to Stockport, opened in the early 1820s. It is made of cast iron and shows place names with a mileage column to each side. The maker's name – Bellhouse - is cast on the stem. In the 20th century, it was moved westwards from over 100 metres away on the opposite side of the road.
