View of a diesel coal train from Lymm Signal Box

Photograph of westward bound diesel coal train taken from Lymm signal box on what is now the Trans Pennine Trail.  The signal, operated from the signal box levers. raised to show the train driver that he has permission to pass.  The houses on the right are those on Brook Road.

When the trains went past at speed, which they often did, the vibration could be felt at least 40m away.
