Welcome to LyDiA, the Lymm Digital Archive

Since Lymm Heritage Centre first opened in June 2017, the focus has always been on 'sharing heritage' and in a way that can be enjoyed by everyone.  Not just visitors to the Centre but also to the thousands of social media followers around the world.

An initiative that took 'sharing' to a new level with the launch of LyDiA, the Lymm Digital Archive.  (A key part of the project from which the Centre was awarded support early in 2017 from the Heritage Lottery Fund).

Using industry leading software PastView from TownsWeb Archiving, this provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface bringing these fascinating old pictures to life  - whilst providing the ability to add that all important story.  But more importantly, it is also about securing our history for future generations, particularly as so many people have old photographs of historic interest.  By lending these to the Centre, high resolution copies can be made and acknowledged before adding to a Collection.  This will not only further knowledge, but also fills in those all important gaps.

If you have images or documents to share or would like to get involved with the project, please contact the team at thelymmarchive@gmail.com.

We really hope you enjoy the site ... and where you can read more in this featured article by the Warrington Guardian.
